About
Brian Rowland joined Team Canada in 2019 after winning the silver medal at the 2019 Canada Winter Games in Red Deer, AB. He competes in the sitting category due to a motorcycle injury he suffered in 2015. However, the injury did not slow him down, as he continues to surf, mountain bike, and JetSki when he is off the slopes.
Rowland, 1986-born, captured his first World Cup podium in the final race of the 2022-23 season, skiing to a third-place finish in the men’s sitting downhill event.
Before his injury, Brian looked up to Terry Fox, the Canadian runner who ran across Canada to raise awareness for cancer research, and this admiration continues to inspire Brian to mentor young athletes.
