Florence Carrier is in her first year with the Canadian Para Alpine Ski team, joining the national team after winning two gold medals at the 2023 Canada Winter Games on Prince Edward Island.
A native of Orford, Que., she competes in the standing category and has been a standout athlete at the FIS international level, with four wins and 13 podiums across super-G, giant slalom and slalom,heading into her first full season on the World Cup.
The 18-year-old lost her leg below the knee as a young child due to fibular hemimelia and started racing when she was nine, using a prosthetic leg. Outside of skiing, she also competes in triathlon and baseball, while targeting her Paralympic and other goals on snow.
