Objectives
The Canadian Ski Racing Awards program is designed to strengthen and celebrate excellence across our sport. Its objectives are to:
- Foster excellence within the sport and among all stakeholders.
- Celebrate and recognize individuals and organizations that exemplify the values of excellence, performance, and community—values that are at the heart of our sport.
- Create stronger alignment between Provincial and National Awards while elevating awareness and profile of these honors.
Awards Process
Provincial awards form the foundation of the National Canadian Ski Racing Awards program.
- Winners of Provincial awards, as selected by the Provincial/Territorial Sport Organizations (PTSOs), become the national nomination pool.
- National award recipients are selected from this pool.
- Final selection of national winners is completed by an independent National Awards Selection Committee.
Committee
The committee is made up of:
- Nigel Cooper, Chair
- Lauren Woolstencroft, alumni and para-alpine representative
- Katie Twible, coach representative and journalist
- Louis-Pierre Hélie, alumni representative
- Nigel Loring, ski executive
