About
Jeffrey Read’s first skiing memory is with his dad in a harness when he was a toddler. At that time, the idea that he would make his World Cup debut on the track his dad won a gold medal at was far-fetched, but many moons later, it happened.
Jeff, son of Crazy Canuck Ken Read, made his FIS World Cup debut in Wengen, SUI, the same hill that his father won on in 1980. Jeff has been a part of the men’s Canadian Alpine Ski Team since 2016, and after finding Nor-Am and Europa success, exploded onto the World Cup circuit.
While he finished fifth in the 2022-23 super-G in Grandvalira Soldeu—El Tarter, AND, his 2023-24 season was a step up, capturing second place in the Kvitfjell, NOR super-G, his first World Cup podium.
The 28-year-old has 33 World Cup top-30 finishes to his name, including seven in the top 10 and will hope to challenge further in 2025-26
