Calgary, Alta. (March 14, 2018) – The Mackenzie Investments Whistler Cup has now been running for over 25 years and continues to be recognized as a foundation for Canadian athletes to put their skills to the test against their global peers.
This year, from April 12-15, 2018, up-and-coming athletes from around the world will descend upon Whistler Blackcomb for another year of exciting racing.
“The Mackenzie Investments Whistler Cup is a great opportunity for young athletes to compete in their own backyard against peers at an international level,” said Grasic. “Whistler Cup has a deep history of showcasing some of the world’s best talent that is now competing at a World Cup level. Good luck to all the athletes and congratulations to the members of Team Canada!”
The 2018 Team Canada (1 and 2), is comprised of 12 strong athletes who have showcased their athletic skills and ability to perform under pressure, securing their position as one of the top six athletes in their gender at the 2018 U16 Sport Chek National Championships, held in Collingwood, Ont.
These athletes will be on the ground in Whistler from April 8th, training and prepping for the series, hoping for a home soil advantage. Alpine Canada will also have four of the nation’s best coaches on the ground to support the success of Team Canada, under the mentorship of Alpine Canada’s Director of Domestic Sport, Dusan Grasic.
Alpine Canada congratulates all athletes qualified for the 2018 Mackenzie Investments Whistler Cup!
