ALANA RAMSAY RACES TO THIRD BRONZE IN AS MANY RACES IN PARA-ALPINE WORLD CUP SLALOM
Canada closing World Cup season with three racers competing at Finals in France
Morzine, FRA (March 20, 2019) – Alana Ramsay (Calgary/CADS Alberta) continues her World Cup slalom podium roll, racing to bronze in the second-to-last Para-Alpine World Cup event of the season in Morzine, France, on Wednesday.
This is the third consecutive bronze-medal performance in as many races for Ramsay, who closed the World Cup event in La Molina, Spain, last week with back-to-back podiums.
“It feels good to be getting back into the swing of gates, and I’m having lots of fun (skiing),” said Ramsay, who noted her podium performances and the back-to-back racing schedule have helped increase her confidence. “I’m looking forward to (Thursday) and the final World Cup race of the season.”
Frédérique (Fred) Turgeon (Candiac, Que./Club de ski Bromont) finished fourth in Wednesday’s race in the ladies’ standing category, while Alex Cairns (Squamish, B.C./B.C. Adaptive Snowsports) was seventh in the men’s sitting category.
The Para-Alpine World Cup season wraps up Thursday with a final slalom race of the season. Fans can stream the runs – scheduled for 4:10 a.m. and 7:15 a.m. ET - via the Canadian Paralympic Team’s Facebook page.
