Get in TouchCalgary, AB — [March 4, 2026] — Alpine Canada announced today that President & CEO Therese Brisson will be leaving the organization by the end of summer 2026, following a robust transition process designed to ensure strong leadership continuity.
Brisson joined Alpine Canada in 2020 with a mandate to stabilize the organization, elevate the organization’s ambitions and aspirations, and lead a major strategic and operational transformation. Over nearly six years, she delivered on that mandate—implementing a new strategic plan, recruiting a strong staff and leadership team, increasing revenues by more than 40% that enabled investment back in sport programs despite stagnant government funding, launching new World Cup events that excite Canadians, and improving athlete performance across Alpine, Para Alpine, and Ski Cross including some historic, record‑setting athlete performances at the World Cup, World Championships, and Olympic and Paralympic Games.
She also significantly strengthened relationships with sport and funding partners—including Sport Canada, Own the Podium, the Canadian Olympic and Paralympic Committees, sponsors, donors, ski resorts, PTSOs, and clubs—to enhance collaboration, increase investment, and advance the long‑term success of Canadian ski racing.
Reflecting on her upcoming departure, Brisson shared:
“After nearly six years with Alpine Canada, and at the end of an Olympic Games cycle, this is the right time for me to pursue new challenges and for a new leader to come in, build on the momentum we’ve created together. I am deeply grateful for the support and engagement of Board Chair Tim Dattels and the entire Board throughout my tenure. I especially want to thank our incredible staff for their passion, resilience, and commitment to our athletes and our vision. It has been an honour to work alongside such a talented and dedicated team to strengthen the organization and elevate Canadian ski racing.

Board Chair Tim Dattels expressed appreciation for Brisson’s impact:

The Board of Directors will launch a comprehensive and competitive recruitment process immediately to ensure a seamless transition before the 2026–27 season.
