ALPINE CANADA ANNOUNCES TEAM FOR FIS ALPINE JUNIOR WORLD SKI CHAMPIONSHIP

Calgary, Alta. (January 13, 2023) — Alpine Canada officially announced today the 12 athletes selected to represent Canada at the FIS Alpine Junior World Ski Championship later this month in St. Anton, Austria. The Canadian Junior Alpine Ski Team is looking to build on last year’s success at Panorama Ski Resort in Invermere, B.C., where Canada won gold in the team parallel event and achieved 11 top ten results.

“Congratulations to the athletes named to the team and to the coaches, clubs and families who have helped them reach this level,” said Therese Brisson, President and CEO of Alpine Canada. “This is an important event in the competitive pathway and a great opportunity for our best junior aged athletes to test themselves against the world's best.  We look forward to building on the amazing results from last year in Panorama in St. Anton this year."

The 2023 World Junior team, supported by Sporting Life, is made up of 12 athletes, under the age for 21, who qualified for the team through a selection criteria that considers world ranking, world ranking by age, as well as performance in the Nor-Am Series. The team is led by returnee Britt Richardson (Canmore, AB), and is made up of six women and six men. Three other athletes, Arianne Forget (Prevost, QC), Justine Lamontagne (Saint-Ferréol-les Neiges, QC) and Tait Jordan (North Vancouver, BC) were also named to last year’s World Junior team.
