Alpine Canada Coronavirus (COVID-19) Information

Updated March 12, 2020

The health and safety of our athletes and staff is of primary concern to Alpine Canada and we are closely monitoring the evolving situation around the Coronavirus (COVID-19). We are in  regular contact with the Canadian Olympic Committee, the Canadian Paralympic Committee, FIS, the Government of Canada and local health officials for guidance and instruction.

All current and future travel plans to competition are being evaluated on an event by event basis. Athletes and staff are using  illness prevention strategies when traveling.

Due to ongoing and evolving concerns surrounding the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), Alpine Canada and U.S. Ski & Snowboard have cancelled the 2020 Alpine NorAm Finals scheduled for March 17-24 at Panorama Mountain Resort in British Columbia, Canada. The Canadian Championships, planned for March 25-28 at Panorama are also cancelled.

Alpine Canada, in consultation with its provincial and territorial partners, recommends the cancellation of all domestic ski races planned for the remainder of the ski season. Decisions regarding training programs will be taken by each of the provincial and territorial organizations.

The Whistler Cup Organizing Committee has made the decision to cancel the 2020 Whistler Cup.

We are monitoring the situation on a daily basis and will adjust plans as required.
