Alpine Canada Launches Sweepstakes in Support of Canadian National & NextGen Ski Team Programs

Calgary, AB. (January 25, 2025) — Alpine Canada today kicked off its first CANskiteam Sweepstakes in support of Canada’s National and Next Gen Ski Team programming. Alpine Canada, supported by partners, suppliers and key industry stakeholders, will launch a first-ever Sweepstakes with over $45,000 in prizes, including two grand prizes of a $15,000 Mike Wiegele Helicopter Skiing experience and a $10,000 redtag.ca vacation travel voucher. All funds raised will go towards supporting National and NextGen ski team programming in alpine, Para alpine and ski cross.

“Government funding for National Sport Organizations hasn’t increased in over 20 years and Canada’s national sport system is facing a funding crisis,” said Therese Brisson, President and CEO, Alpine Canada. “Consistent with our Made for Canada Strategic Plan, the sweepstakes is one of a variety of fundraising initiatives that we are launching to help our athletes, teams and coaches compete with the world’s best and deliver on our vision of a Canada being a world-leading ski racing nation.  This is more important than ever as we head into World Championships later this season and on the road to the 2026 Cortina Olympic and Paralympic Games.  I want to thank our partners and suppliers for their support on this important initiative.”

Along with the two Grand prizes from Mike Wiegele Helicopter Skiing and redtag.ca , other prizes including early bird draws for VIP experiences at the 2025 PwC Tremblant World Cup and 2025 redtag.ca SKi Cross World Cup, a Sporting Life gift card, two 25-26 Season Epic ski passes and packages from HEAD, Nordica, Rossignol, Level and Helly Hansen.
