Alpine Canada receives $1,000,000 Donation Commitment from Lance Uggla and the Uggla Family Foundation

Calgary, AB (June 25, 2026) – As Alpine Canada launches a new Olympic quadrennial and sets its sights on the French Alps 2030 Olympic Winter Games, the organization is proud to announce a transformative $1 million commitment from Lance Uggla and the Uggla Family Foundation.

This leadership gift—providing a minimum of $150,000 annually over six years—will directly accelerate the performance and development of Canada’s National Ski Team across alpine, Para alpine, and ski cross disciplines. More importantly, it sets the tone for what is possible when Canadians come together to invest in excellence.

At a time when Canada ranks among the world’s best—ninth in alpine, first in ski cross, and fresh off five Para alpine medals at the Milano Cortina 2026 Paralympic Winter Games—this commitment ensures our athletes have the resources they need to push even further. Funds will strengthen coaching and technical leadership, elevate daily training and competition environments, and enhance athlete health and performance supports. It will also help unlock additional federal funding opportunities and offset rising costs tied to a challenging global training environment.

“I am proud to stand up for Canada and to support our world class athletes and coaches as they compete with the very best and pursue their Olympic dreams,” said Lance Uggla, Founder and Director of the Uggla Family Foundation and Alpine Canada Board Director. “Philanthropy is essential to the success of ski racing in Canada, and I hope our family’s commitment inspires others to get behind these incredible athletes.”

“I want to sincerely thank Lance, his daughters Cassidy, Riley and Kendall and his son Matthew for their very generous and game-changing gift,” said Therese Brisson, President and CEO of Alpine Canada. “This is more than a donation—it is a powerful vote of confidence in our athletes and our vision. Lance and his family are leading by example, and together we have an opportunity to build something extraordinary for Canada.”

For decades, donor support has helped Canadian skiers rise to the world stage, turning potential into podium performances and inspiring the next generation from coast to coast to coast. Today, the opportunity is even greater. With renewed national ambition, enhanced federal investment, and the momentum of leaders like the Uggla family, Alpine Canada is poised to build a truly world-leading system.

But we cannot do it alone.

The Uggla family has set the pace. Now we are inviting Canadians who believe in excellence, resilience, and the power of sport to join them.

Be part of the CANskiteam. Stand with our athletes. Invest in Canada’s pursuit of greatness.
