Canada Captures Four Podiums to Cap Off Santa Caterina FIS Para Alpine World Cup

Calgary, Alberta (Decembre 17, 2025) —Canada’s National Ski Team continued their strong early season performance with a four-podium day at the FIS Para Alpine World Cup in Santa Caterina (ITA). Today’s results have Canada departing Santa Caterina with seven podiums in just two days of racing.

Alexis Guimond (Gatineau, QC), competing in men’s standing, raced to second place today for his fourth consecutive podium this season.

“Today was a great day of racing for Canada,” said Guimond. ““The snow conditions allowed us to be more aggressive tactically and as a team we were all faster today. Really proud of what the team was able to do today, and to see my teammates reach the podium.”

“I had a good run today; it was a solid effort besides a small mistake at the top. But I made the most of it later in course and proud of the podium.”

Competing in women’s standing Mollie Jepsen (West Vancouver, BC), stood on the podium for the fourth time in five races this season with a second place finish, and Michaela Gosselin (Collingwood, ON) grabbed her first podium of the season with a third place finish.

“Feels great to finally be back on the box after a tough start to the season,” said Gosselin. “Sharing the podium with Mollie today was very special. I’m happy with my skiing today; there’s still room to go faster, but it’s a good result to end this speed racing block.”

“Watching your teammates do well is always rewarding, and seeing all the red on the podium the last couple of days shows the consistency we’re building and how much work the team has been putting in behind the scenes. Everyone’s pushing and supporting each other, and that’s showing in the results.”

FIS

Kalle Eriksson (Kimberley, BC), with guide Sierra Smith (Ottawa, ON), competing in men vision impaired, took second for their second podium in two days as they return to competition from injury.

“Having the injury and the setback in the World Cup season actually seems to have helped me in a way. Stepping back and looking at things from a different perspective has given me an extra step in my skiing, and I’ve been able to focus on things a little differently. This being my best downhill result so far, I couldn’t be happier with where I’m at and how I’m performing.”

“This team is really special. To put four out of five athletes on the podium in a downhill is unreal and shows how much hard work everyone is putting in. I’m incredibly thankful for all the staff and my teammates who make ski racing so much more enjoyable, and I can’t believe I get to represent the Maple Leaf with this group. I can’t wait to keep the racing going in St. Moritz.”

FIS

Brian Rowland (Merrickville, ON) in his second World Cup race of the season had a seasons best fifth place in men sitting.
