Canada Sweeps Podium at Nakiska Ski Cross Nor-Am Cup

Calgary, AB. (December 17, 2024) — Canadians stood on the podium at all four races this weekend at the ski cross Nor-Am Cup races in Nakiska, AB, December 14 and 15. In the first of five scheduled ski cross Nor-Am Cup race weekends this season, Canadian women shined, sweeping the podium on day 1 and taking the top two steps on day 2.

NextGen athlete Kaleb Barnum (Fernie, BC) finished second in the first men’s race; a race that saw Canada place six men in the top 10, including fellow NextGen racer Garrett Musgrave (Lloydminster, SK) in fifth. Musgrave led the Canadians in the second men’s race finishing third, and again Canada had six men place in the top 10.

Sage Stefani led the Canadian sweep of the first women’s race with Anne-Marie Joncas finishing second and Kael Oberlander rounding out the podium. Canadian women narrowly missed sweeping the podium in the second race with Oberlander finishing first, Joncas again taking second, and Stefani racing to fourth place.
