Calgary, AB. (March 14, 2025) — It was a strong day for Canada’s Valérie Grenier (St. Isidore, ON) delivering an eight-place finish at the FIS Ski World Cup super-G (SG) in La Thuile (ITA). Today’s top 10 is Grenier’s third career top 10 in SG and her best result in SG since a fourth place in 2019. This is her fifth top 10 this season and the 23rd of her career.
Racing for the first time in La Thuile, in the Aosta Valley of northwest Italy, with the race starting from the lower reserve start due to weather and snow conditions, Grenier vaulted from starting 31st into the top 10.
“I feel really good about the race today,” said a smiling Grenier. “I’ve had some tough races this season with some DNFs, and it’s been a while since I’ve been in the top 10, so I’m super happy with the result. This is the first time racing in La Thuile but we train here a lot. Our coach Laurent (Praz) is from here and we love the area so very happy to race here and to get a good result.”
Grenier was the only Canadian in today’s field and she will now travel back to Canada on her way to World Cup Finals in Sun Valley (USA) March 20 to 27.
