Canadian Ski Cross Team Looks to Finish the Cross Alps Tour the Way They Started

Calgary, AB (December 19, 2019) – After four races, at three different venues over two weeks the 2019 Audi FIS Ski Cross World Cup Cross Alps Tour rolls into its’ final stop in Innichen, Italy for two days of racing starting on Dec. 21. Coming off first place finishes in Arosa, Switzerland Marielle Thompson (Whistler, BC) and Kevin Drury (Toronto, ON) look to finish out the tour with more gold.

While Drury wants to keep his winning streak going Kris Mahler (Canmore, AB) who had his first World Cup podium in Val Thorens and followed it up with a 2nd place finish in Montafon aims to get back on the podium after a 6th place finish in Arose.

Not to be outdone Brady Leman (Calgary, AB), who won the Innichen World Cup in 2011, would love to win a race before the Cross Alps Tour is done. Nipping at Leman, Mahler and Drury’s heels will be Chris Del Bosco (Montreal, QC), Reece Howden (Calgary, AB), Zach Belczyk (Banff, AB) and Carson Cook (Edmonton, AB).

On the women’s side of things Thompson hopes to take over first place on the Cross Alps Tour. The 23-time World Cup winner also wants to claim her first win at Innichen, one of the few venues she has not won at during her career.  Following in behind Thompson, is Courtney Hoffos (Windermere, BC) who before this season had not been on a World Cup podium but has found herself on three of the seven podiums this tour. Racing along with Thompson and Hoffos will be Britt Phelan (Mont-Tremblant, QC), India Sherret (Cranbrook, BC), Abby McEwen (Edmonton, AB) and Zoe Chore (Cranbrook, BC).

The entire Canadian Ski Cross Team looks to finish the tour the way they started, with a strong Canadian contingent on the podium.
