Calgary, AB (January 24, 2020) – From the land of roses Marie-Michèle Gagnon charged to a career best 13th place finish in the Bansko World Cup from Bansko, BUL. Gagnon overcame variable lighting on the tough course, “It’s nice to get a good result, it’s been a tough start to the season, so this feels really good."

Gagnon’s 13th place finish is a career best in the discipline. Her previous best was a 26th position at Lake Louise in December.

“The snow is great; they did a really good job. There are some gates that are bumpy, but you can move through it. The more I was moving the easier it felt. It was a step in the right direction for sure.”

As the only Canadian competing in Bulgaria, Gagnon represented well for the Canadian Alpine Ski Team and looks to keep the momentum going the rest of the weekend.

“Definitely looking forward to having the team back and we can build a team that pushes each other. I’m going to go with the confidence I built today. I’m excited for tomorrow.”

With one run under her belt Marie-Michèle is ready to tackle the downhill again tomorrow. Watch it live on
