RACE PREVIEW: DECEMBER 15-23

Calgary, Alta. (December 14, 2017) – The alpine, ski cross and para-alpine team all have upcoming races in Europe over the next 12 days.

ALPINE

The men’s tech and speed athletes will be racing over the weekend. Men’s speed is up first with a super-G Friday, followed by a downhill on Saturday on the Val Gardena/ Groeden, ITA track. The track is famous for its ‘camel bumps,’ a difficult series of terrain on the track.

The men’s tech team will race a giant slalom on Sunday in Alta Badia, ITA and will be back looking for points after the guys missed out in Val d’Isère, FRA last weekend. The team will have a short break and then will head to Madonna di Campiglio, ITA for a slalom on Friday.

The ladies have a speed weekend in Val d’Isère, FRA followed by a giant slalom and slalom race in Courchevel, FRA on Tuesday and Wednesday.

SKI CROSS

The Cross Alps Tour is well underway and the Canada Ski Cross team has picked up four podiums, including a win, in just two races. The team will race in Montafon, AUT on Friday and then head to Innichen, ITA for back-to-back races on December 21 and 22AVIS DE COURSES : 15 AU 23 DÉCEMBRE.

PARA-ALPINE

After the team’s first block of races were cancelled in St. Moritz, SUI, they capitalized on some extra training time before heading to Kuhtai, AUS for two slalom and two giant slalom races.
