Calgary, AB. (Nov 23, 2024) — Continuing her strong start to the season, Laurence St-Germain (St. Ferréol-les-Neiges, QC) finished seventh today at the FIS Ski World Cup women’s slalom in Killington, Vermont. Today’s result gives St-Germain three top 11 finishes in three races this season.

In front of a reported crowd of almost 20,000 cheering on racers from all countries, St-Germain was 12th in the first run and then improved to seventh in her second run. Today was her 71st World Cup slalom start and her 15th career World Cup slalom top 10.

“Super happy with today’s race,” said a pleased St-Germain. “Like in Gurgl (AUT) last week it was two solid runs, with less mistakes here in Killington. I adapted really well between the two runs and avoided losing focus at the bottom and pushing all the way to the finish. After the way last season ended, I wasn’t sure how this season would start with less training in the summer as I rehabbed my ankle. So super stoked at how the season has started and how consistent I’ve been in training and in the races.”

“It was super fun to have a big crew here today, including my parents and brother, and other family members and friends. The crowd was amazing, I felt their energy at the bottom, and it helped me give one last push at the end.”

Missing out on the top 30 and qualifying for the second run were Amelia Smart (Invermere, BC) in 33rd place and Kiki Alexander (Cochrane, AB) in 43rd.

Ali Nullmeyer (Toronto, ON) crossed the line in 19th place in the first run but was later disqualified for a straddle at the top of the course.
