Calgary, Alta. (January 18, 2018) – The para-alpine team wrapped up a tech series in Veysonnaz, SUI with three podium finishes. Mac Marcoux (Sault Ste-Marie) and guide, Jack Leitch (Calgary, Alta.), captured second-place finishes in the slalom and giant slalom, and Alexis Guimond (Mont-Tremblant, QUE.) took a third-place finish in the giant slalom.
The teams were supposed to run two slalom races and two giant slalom races but significant snowfall and high winds cancelled two of the four schedule races.
Para-alpine veteran, Braydon Luscombe (Duncan, B.C.) had a season-best result skiing to a fourth-place finish, just missing the podium.
Development team athlete, Mollie Jepsen (Vancouver, B.C.), has been having a great season with two top-five World Cup finishes, including one in the Veysonnaz, SUI giant slalom. The 18-year-old made the Development team this year after showing promise on the Europa Cup circuit.
Alana Ramsay (Calgary, Alta.) was right in the mix in both races finishing in fourth-place, just shy of a podium finish.
The team now heads to Tignes, FRA for a speed series.
