The older half of the Canadian Ski Cross Team’s Schmidt siblings, Hannah has been tearing it up in her young career. Although her 2018-19 season ended with an injury, the rest of it was exceptional. The Ottawa, ON, native, stood on the podium six times in Nor-Am competition that year and topped that off with her first World Cup start in Blue Mountain, ON.

She committed to rehabbing her injuries and coming back stronger than before, which was clear in 2021-22 when she finished every race in the Top 15 and qualified for the 2022 Winter Olympic Games along with her brother, Jared. At the Olympics, the now 29-year-old finished 7th, qualifying for the small final at her first major Games.

The following season, 2022-23, was a breakout year for Schmidt, as she captured her first podium finish, crossing the line in second place in Val Thorens, FRA. To finish the season, she qualified for the big final in Craigleith, ON, finishing fourth.
