Simon Fournier made the Canadian Alpine Development Team in 2016. In the 2015-16 season, Fournier skied to great success on the FIS circuit claiming two first-place finishes, three second-place finishes and 12 top-ten finishes. On the Nor-Am Cup circuit, Fournier had a top-20 finish at the Whiteface Mountain super-G. In the 2016-17 season, Fournier was selected to go to the FIS Junior World Ski Championships where he had two top-15 performances. At the 2018 FIS Junior World Ski Championships, Fournier finished 15th in the slalom. On the Nor-Am Cup circuit, Fournier had three top-ten finishes, two in alpine combined and one in super-G.
