ALPINE CANADA ANNOUNCES TEAM FOR 2024 FIS ALPINE JUNIOR WORLD SKI CHAMPIONSHIPS
Calgary, AB. (January 25, 2024) — Alpine Canada announced today the 15 athletes who will represent Canada at the FIS Alpine Junior World Ski Championship in Haute-Savoie, France from January 28th through February 3rd, 2024.
The 2024 Junior World team, supported by Sporting Life, is led by Britt Richardson (Canmore, AB) who is making her third appearance at Junior Worlds. The Canadian team is made up of 15 athletes, under the age for 21, who were selected using criteria that includes world ranking, world ranking by age, as well as performance in the Nor-Am Series. Five other athletes return from last year’s Junior Worlds team: Arianne Forget (Prévost, QC), Hemming Sola (Summerland, BC), Jesse Kertesz-Knight (Jasper, AB), Kyle Blandford (Oakville, ON) and Oscar Park (Calgary, AB).
“This group of young athletes have demonstrated some exceptional performances this season and this competition will serve as a great benchmarking opportunity against the world's best junior athletes,” said Jeff Thompson, VP Domestic Sport Programs & Events, Alpine Canada. “Congratulations to the athletes named to the team and to their coaches, clubs and families who support them on and off the snow every day.”
