Calgary, Alta. (February 1, 2017) – Alpine Canada announced today, a call for nominations for the 2017 Canadian Ski Racing Awards, presented by Helly Hansen, recognizing outstanding performances and contributions in Canada Ski Racing.   

The Canadian Ski Racing Awards enables Canadians to vote for their favourite and most deserving alpine, para-alpine and ski cross national team athletes.  Fans may vote online at   

Alpine Canada’s 2017 Canadian Ski Racing Awards also recognizes impactful members of the ski racing community as a whole, including coaches, volunteers, clubs and ski resorts nationwide.

The 2017 Canadian Ski Racing Awards categories are as follows:

Athlete of the Year: Male & Female (Alpine, Para-Alpine, Ski Cross)
Fan Favourite
Coach of the Year
Volunteer of the Year
Minogue Award of Excellence
Ski Racing Club of the Year
Ski Resort of the Year
Builder of the Year

Canadian Ski Racing Award winners will be selected by a Committee, representing athletes, media, ski resorts and other stakeholders.  The Committee will chaired by Emily Brydon, former member of the Canadian Alpine Ski Team.   Joining Brydon on the Selection Committee will be the following individuals:

March 5th, 2017 marks the final day for voting and nominations. Winners will be announced at an awards gala hosted at the 2017 Sports Experts Canadian Championships, to be held in Mont-Tremblant on March 25th.
