Alpine Canada welcomes Teck as premier level sponsor of Canada’s Ski Teams

Calgary, Alta. (November 24, 2021) — Alpine Canada Alpin (ACA) is proud to announce that Teck Resources Limited (Teck) has joined the sponsorship family as a premier sponsor.

Teck has supported Canadian skiers for well over a decade with connections to multiple Alpine Canada alumni, athlete families and the development pipeline through provincial team support. This new partnership as a premier sponsor is an important extension of the already positive relationship shared by the two organizations.

“I had the privilege of being sponsored for many years by Teck,” says alumnus Emily Brydon. “They were an integral part of my career and are still very much involved in my life through the Emily Brydon Youth Foundation. Our relationship was deeper than financial support, and while that was integral throughout my career, as well as more recently for the EBYF, I’ve always felt like we were a team, and I was a member of the Teck family.”

“Having Teck join Alpine Canada as a premier partner is an amazing extension of what has been a positive relationship for several years,” says Therese Brisson, Alpine Canada’s CEO and President. “The company has supported many of our athletes and their families for years through sponsorship and jobs in the industry. We’re thrilled that they are expanding that support to all of our national teams in such an important year leading up to the Beijing 2022 Winter Games.”

“We’re proud to support Alpine Canada and the athletes whose dedication and commitment to excellence is an inspiration to all Canadians,” said Don Lindsay, President and CEO, Teck. “Our employees are passionate about giving back to their communities through sport and Alpine Canada is a natural fit with many team members over the years coming from the communities and regions where we operate.”

“Teck Resources is an excellent company to work with and represent,” adds Kelly VanderBeek, former Alpine Canada athlete and 2018 Olympic broadcast host. “As an athlete, I not only knew the head offices, but I also visited Teck sites like Trail and Duck Pond in Newfoundland.  I got to know many of their employees and felt a real sense of family among them. They welcomed me in, cheered me on, and I remain in close contact with many of them today. They went beyond monetary support and provided me with a cheering squad. I was extremely proud to represent Teck’s brand as it aligned with many of my own values, like community and safety.”
