Calgary, AB (January 9, 2020) – On day two of the World Para-Alpine Skiing World Cup in Veysonnaz, Switzerland,  the Canadian Para-Alpine Ski Team was once again at the top! Mac Marcoux (Sault Ste. Marie, ON) guided by Tristan Rodgers (Ottawa, ON) finished in 1st in the Men’s Visually Impaired category, two wins in the first two world cup races of the season. Mollie Jepsen (West Vancouver, BC) finished in 2nd for her second podium of the season and Alexis Guimond (Gatineau, QC) finished in 3rd. So far this season, the team has six podium finishes in the first two super-G races of the year, marking a strong start for this veteran team.

For Mac Marcoux, another day on the course meant that he and guide Rodgers were able to build more confidence as a team in only their second World Cup race together.  “We had a really good day. We had a good plan and executed really well. Super excited to come out with the win. Today was a lot more conservative of a set than yesterday but it was really fun.”

Guimond, who competes in the Men’s Standing Category, was happy with his race today but knows he has more in the tank, “It went great, good skiing. I had a lack of confidence at the start and I was feeling a little under the weather but really glad I pulled this one out.”

Jepsen who had a gold yesterday in the Women’s Standing Category, was excited about the course, “It was pretty sweet. Nice to be on the track again. Set was awesome. I’d like to pick up some speed for tomorrow.”
