February 25, 2019 – Descente and Alpine Canada Alpin are pleased to announce that they will be extending their partnership with the Canadian Ski Cross Team (CSX) for another four years. Descente will be the official clothing outfitter for the CSX team athletes, coaches and staff through the 2022/2023 season.
Descente first partnered with the CSX in the Spring of 2008. Over the past eleven years, Descente has helped support the Team’s top athletes in their pursuit of multiple World Cup podium finishes, and six Olympic Medals (three gold, two silver and a bronze).
“Our national ski cross team athletes, coaches, and staff are proud to wear Descente’s quality apparel and racewear for another four years, especially in our preparation for the Beijing Olympics in 2022,” said Vania Grandi, president and CEO of Alpine Canada. “The investment from partners like Descente provides Alpine Canada with the resources needed to ensure our national team athletes excel at the highest levels of competition. We thank Descente for the ongoing support of our ski cross program, and look forward to continuing this great partnership.”
Descente will work directly with ACA to design next-level technologies, and to provide winning collections. This season’s gear has been proudly displayed in World Cup and World Championships competition, where Canada has stepped onto the podium 13 times thus far.
Driven by its Japanese heritage and high alpine mountain roots, challenging the limits has led Descente to over 80 years of revolutionary sportswear development with an ongoing commitment to innovation and perfection.
Unrestricted Movement, Premium Quality and Precise Detailing are the three pillars of Descente’s mission to create products that are designed and constructed to last and outperform.
“We at Descente are delighted to continue our partnership with Alpine Canada Alpin,” said Masatoshi Ishimoto, President and CEO of Descente Ltd. “The Canadian Ski Cross Team is undoubtedly one of the strongest in the world and we are proud to have been associated with them since the inception of the sport.
