Ericsson & Smith Podium in Third Consecutive Race

Ericsson & Smith Podium in Third Consecutive Race

Calgary, AB. (March 24, 2025) — Canadians extended their podium streak at FIS Para Alpine Ski World Cup Finals in Veysonnaz (SUI) to four days, with Kalle Ericsson (Kimberley, BC), and guide Sierra Smith (Ottawa, ON), taking third in today’s slalom in men vision impaired.

Coming off a win in Saturday’s giant slalom (GS), and third place in Friday’s GS, Ericsson and Smith raced to third today in a tight race where the top four were separated by less than .8 of a second for their ninth World Cup podium this season.

“It wasn’t our best skiing today, but we are proud with our consistency on the podium and knowing that we have more in the tank,” said Ericsson. “It’s really awesome being in a category where the top racers are so competitive, and anyone can win on a given day. It pushes you to bring your best.”

Other Canadians in action today in women’s standing were Michaela Gosselin (Collingwood, ON) in fifth, Florence Carrier in sixth, while Tess Beasant didn’t finish her first run.

And in men’s sitting, Kurt Oatway (Calgary, AB), Brian Rowland (Merrickville, ON), and Samuel Peters didn’t finish their first run.
