ERIN LATIMER CAPTURES ANOTHER WORLD CUP PODIUM

ERIN LATIMER CAPTURES ANOTHER WORLD CUP PODIUM

Calgary, Alta. (December 22, 2016) – The Canadian Para-Alpine Ski Team continues to shine on the World Cup circuit with another podium finish and more top ten finishes in the St. Moritz (SUI) slalom races.

St. Moritz – Slalom #1

Ontario’s Erin Latimer, who secured her career-first World Cup podium earlier this season, has gone on to capture three more since then. In the first slalom race of the St. Moritz series, Latimer put together two consistent runs to land in third-place on the podium.

“After a tough slalom series in Kuhtai, I was looking to find some good feelings here in St. Moritz,” said Latimer. “Sitting in fourth-place after the first run and moving up to the podium today feels great and it builds confidence moving forward in this World Cup season.”

Alberta’s Alana Ramsay, who is also no stranger to the podium, finished just behind Latimer in fourth-place.

Kirk Schornstein had the best men’s result of the day finishing in eighth-place.

St. Moritz – Slalom #2

The second day of slalom in St. Moritz proved to be a tougher day for the team as they walked away without a podium finish. Ramsay showed consistency finishing in fourth-place and Latimer finished in sixth-place.

On the men’s side, Kurt Oatway had the men’s best finish ending the day in seventh-place while teammate, Schornstein, finished in eighth-place. Braydon Luscombe put together two runs to finish in 11th-place.

The Canadian Para-Alpine Ski Team will take a break from competing until the World Cup circuit resumes January 11th in Innerkrems (AUT).
