Calgary, Alta. (January 25, 2018) – It’s less than two weeks until the 2018 Olympic Winter Games and Alpine Canada athletes have one more shot to hit Olympic qualifying criteria.
This weekend, the men are racing in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, GER. A downhill will be held on Saturday, followed by a giant slalom on Sunday. Ben Thomsen is coming off a season-best result in the Kitzbuehel, AUT downhill last weekend and Brodie Seger is coming off his first-ever World Cup downhill start.
The ladies’ are in Lenzerheide, SUI racing an alpine combined Friday, giant slalom Saturday and slalom Sunday. Erin Mielzynski has found her stride this season, posting three top-20 results in the last three races. Roni Remme and Laurence St-Germain have been exciting to watch as their young talent has shown brilliance and personal-best performances on the World Cup circuit.
