Calgary, Alta. (January 4, 2017) – Happy New Year Alpine Canada fans! We’re just over one month away from the 2018 Winter Olympic Games. But until then, there’s lot of exciting World Cup action. Here’s what’s on the schedule for this weekend:

The men’s and ladies’ tech teams are racing both giant slalom and slalom. The ladies’ team is in Kranjska Gora, SLO. Candace Crawford is returning to the World Cup circuit after an injury earlier in the season kept her rehabbing in the gym. Erin Mielzynski, Valérie Gernier, Laurence St-Germain, Mikaela Tommy and Roni Remme will also race this weekend. St-Germain has had a great start to the season with two top-20 results. Remme has also showed huge promise capturing slalom points in her first World Cup slalom race this season.

Following the weekend races, the ladies have a midweek slalom race in Flachau, AUT.

The men’s tech team will race in Adelboden SUI. Erik Read achieved a top 30 in the slalom at this stop last season and will be pushing for more this weekend. Trevor Philp will be hunting for his second top-30 of the season. Phil Brown and Dustin Cook round out the Canadians racing this weekend.
