Calgary, Alta. (April 11, 2017) – Canada’s largest youth ski racing event, celebrating its 25th anniversary, is kicking off this weekend in Whistler, British Columbia. Over 400 athletes and 150 coaches from more than 20 countries will land in Whistler, finding their way to the podium thanks to the support from event sponsors and the dedicated 300 volunteers. The Mackenzie Investments Whistler Cup races begin on Thursday, April 13th and Alpine Canada is pleased to unveil the athletes who have been selected to represent Team Canada.
Nine boys and nine girls from across the country were selected using criteria from three different events: U16 National Championships, Eastern Can-Ams and Teck U14/16 Westerns.
Dusan Grasic, Alpine Canada Domestic Director, is the Team Canada lead. Joining Grasic on the coaching staff is Jennifer Clarridge (B.C.), Milan Arsoviski (AB), Wayne Howard (ON), and Guillaume Taillefer (QC).
