Get in TouchCalgary, Alta. (March 17, 2026) — Alpine Canada announced today the three athletes selected to represent Canada at the 2026 FIS Ski Cross Junior World Championships in St. Moritz (SUI). Canada has collected 12 podiums at ski cross Junior Worlds including taking gold in both men (Kaleb Barnum) and women (Emeline Bennett) in 2024. Previous gold medalists include current national team members India Sherret and Marielle Thompson.
Kael Oberlander (Kelowna, BC) will be making her third appearance at the Junior World Championships looking to build on back-to-back 15th place finishes.
“This is an exciting opportunity for these athletes to compete on the world stage,” said Dave Ellis, Alpine Canada’s High-Performance Director, Ski Cross. “I wish this group lots of success and I hope they enjoy the experience. I appreciate the commitment it takes, on and off the snow, to reach this level, and the families, friends and clubs deserve recognition for their support of all athletes, and especially those heading to Junior Worlds.”
The 2026 Junior Worlds team is made up of three athletes who qualified for the team through a selection criteria that considers world ranking, world ranking by age, as well as performance in the Nor-Am Series.
