About
It wasn’t long ago that Cassidy Gray was the youngest on the Canadian alpine team. Now, she’s one of the most experienced and is entering her prime years at 24 years old, already boasting 41 World Cup starts ahead of 2025-26.
The Invermere, BC native made her World Cup debut as a 19-year-old and quickly turned heads, earning points in her second World Cup race with a 26th-place finish in the giant slalom in Kranjska Gora, SLO.
Since then, she posted a 23rd-place finish in giant slalom at her first World Championship in Cortina d’Ampezzo, ITA, in 2023 and made her Olympic debut at Beijing 2022. While her Olympics didn’t go to plan, she bounced back in 2023-24 with five top-30 finishes, including a career-best 15th in Åre, SWE, in March 2024.
Last season, she put up the second-best result of her career, finishing 20th in the giant slalom in Semmering, AUT.
While “Cass” has primarily focused on giant slalom through her first few years on the World Cup, she has eased into the speed events and has started in three World Cup downhills and six super-Gs, while also competing in the speed disciplines at the 2025 World Championships.
Formerly a collegiate skier with the University of Colorado, Gray won the NCAA giant slalom title. She also boasts a World Junior Championship gold medal as a member of the Canadian group that topped the team competition on her home slopes of Panorama, B.C.
An avid hiker, cyclist and CrossFit athlete in the offseason, Gray has quickly established herself as an energetic veteran in the Canadian team and has high hopes this season and the 2026 Olympic year.
Gray wears a helmet representing the Columbia Valley, where she grew up. The Valley is on the unseeded territory of the Secwépemc, Ktunaxa, and Niitsitapi people, three bands that have been supportive throughout her childhood. Her helmet features some salmon, designed by Trinda Cote, a member of the Shuswap Band.
