Cameron Alexander Races to 10th in Season Opening Downhill

Calgary, AB. (December 4, 2025) — The men opened their World Cup speed season today with a downhill (DH) at the FIS Ski World Cup in Beaver Creek (USA). Cameron Alexander (North Vancouver, BC), in his first downhill race since injury ended his season last year, led the Canadians with a 10th place finish.

Starting 17th on a bright sunny day on a shortened course due to challenging weather conditions, today’s 10th place is Alexander’s career best World Cup result in Beaver Creek.

“Felt good to be racing downhill and to feel like myself in the start gate on race day,” said Alexander. “A top 10 today is a great place to start from, especially when I know I left some time out there with how I skied. Feel like I’m in a great spot heading into the downhills this season and the super-G tomorrow.”

Brodie Seger (North Vancouver, BC) placed 15th today for his third consecutive top 25 finish in Beaver Creek going back to last season.

James Crawford (Toronto, ON) missed out on securing World Cup points by one place finishing 31st, while Jeffrey Read (Canmore, AB) was 57th and Raphael Lessard Bromont, QC), in his fifth World Cup start, placed 58th.
