Valérie Grenier Fourth in World Cup Giant Slalom

Calgary, AB. (December 27, 2025) — Racing at today’s FIS Ski Women’s World Cup Giant Slalom in Semmering (AUT), Valérie Grenier (St. Isidore, ON), took fourth place for her second top five result this season, the other being a third-place finish at the PwC Tremblant World Cup stop earlier this month.

Grenier, sitting in seventh place after the first run, picked up three spots in the second run for her 14th World Cup top five result.

“There are mixed emotions today,” said Grenier. “I’m satisfied with the result, fourth is good and I’m really pleased with my consistency this season and to be right there with the top girls. But I was a little disappointed in my first run, the conditions were challenging and I was a little all over the place. And happy with how I attacked the course in the second run and with how I battled my way down.”

Britt Richardson (Canmore, AB), raced to 11th today giving her five top 20 finishes in five World Cup starts this season.

Justine Lamontagne (St-Ferréol-les-Neiges, QC), advanced to the second run for the first time her in 16 World Cup starts, collected her first World Cup points with a career best 26th place.

“It’s special to prove that I can be in the top 30,” said Lamontagne. “It’s been a while that I’ve been working to be there and to bring to races what I’ve been doing in training feels good. The first run today was a battle, the conditions were challenging, so putting together two good runs feels great. Now I want to keep this going and to bring it again next week in Kranjska Gora.”

Cassidy Gray (Panorama, BC) and Arianne Forget (Prévost, QC) did not finish their first runs.
