Mollie Jepsen

About

West Vancouver, B.C.’s Mollie Jepsen was an all-star skier in her age group with the Whistler Mountain Ski Club. After joining the Canadian Para Alpine Ski Team at just 15, she carried her success to the Para-Alpine World Cup and the Paralympics after a successful season on the Europa Cup circuit.

However, a trio of medals at the 2018 World Championships vaulted her into the sport’s elite and qualified her for her first Paralympic Games. She reached the podium four times at PyeongChang 2018, winning gold in the super-combined, silver in slalom and bronze in the downhill and super-G.

Months after reaching the podium at PyeongChang 2018, Jepsen was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease, which kept her out of competition until January 2020, as one of the first major setbacks she has had to work through.

She continued to thrive at Beijing 2022, upgrading her 2018 bronze to gold in the downhill and silver in giant slalom, earning herself the role of Team Canada’s flag bearer in the closing ceremonies for the 2022 Winter Paralympic Games. In 2021-22, through competition outside the Paralympic Games, Mollie reached the podium each time.

In 2022-23, she opted out of the World Championships to focus on her education and missed the entire 2023-24 season and most of 2024-25 as she recovered from elbow and wrist surgery, among other setbacks.

She returned to racing in the final World Cup stop of 2024-25, picking up two third-place finishes in giant slalom in Veysonnaz, SUI, marking a triumphant return to the World Cup as she eyes her third Paralympics as a 26-year-old in 2025-26.
